Healing From God
To support overall well-being, we all need a spiritual connection. It supports a healthy body and mind. To be connected to a higher power gives us encouragement, strength, and a positive mind.
When we sick especially with a serious condition we usually turn to God. This might be the first time for many to pray, read the Bible or even think about God. Even for some who read the Bible daily run to God in these circumstances, praying asking for God to turn things around. We beg for healing to come! Then when the desired outcome is not there, we blame God the Father or Jesus that God did not hear us or did not grant our request. This is not true!!

It is Up to Us
It is Up to Us
God is not the one that needs to do something at this moment in time when we sick or need something from Him. He is not going to move for each one of us separately. He already moved when Jesus died in our place on the cross for all of us in one move (Rom 8:32). "By one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified" (Heb 10:14). Ephesinas 1:2 states we are blessed by God with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ
It is actually us that needs to do something. We are the ones who need to reach out to God and recieve. To make the blessing our own and hold on to it. Mark 11:22 to 24 spells it out:
- have Faith
- Speak for there is power in the tounge (Proverbs 18:21)
- Believe without doubt in what you spoke in Jesus name
- pray.
God already provided for us everything that is needed to be saved and healed! This truth is mentioned in one verse together in a few places in the bible:
- 1 Peter 2:24
- Psalm 103:3
- Isaiah 53:5
Obediance Gives Healing
The Bible states we need to obey God to live a prosperous and healty life. "To obey is better than scrifice" (1 Sam 15:22). Jesus said if we love him we will keep His commandmetns (John 14:15). In deuteronomy 28 verses 1-14 God spells out all the blessings in obeying Him and live acording to His will for us and according to His word.
God has a big BUT. If we do not live according to His ways He state all the consequences in disobediance. Deutronomy 28 veses 15 - 68 spels out all God can curse us with if we do not follow His ways. As you can see there is a lot more that can happen in disobediance. Verse 59 states "then the Lord will bring upon you and your decendants extrodanary plagues - great and prolonged plagues - and serious and prolonged sickness." We need to Fear THE LORD OUR GOD as verse 58 states. Isaiah 1:19 - 20 also states the good in being obedient and the consecquences if not.
Deutronomy 5:33 is clear to live according to God's commandmets give us live, health, prosperity and a prolonged life. "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, decieving yourselves" (James 1:22). Listen to what the Lord wispers to you in that still small voice of your conscience as it bears witness with your thoughts accusing or excusing (Rom 2:15).

A Hedge of Protection
Satan attack to derail our Faith
Job was a faithful man fearing God, blessed by God and had a fruitful live (Job1:1-3). Even so that God mentioned Job in congregations in heaven with God’s sons and Satan (Job 1: 6 -8; Job 2:1-3). Satan noticed Job but could not touch him as God had a henge of protection around him, his family and all Job owned (Job 1:10). God had to give Satan permission to touch him but put limits on how the devil could intervene in Job’s live (Job 1:12; Job 2:6). Job was struck by all calamities (Job 1:13-19) and diseases (Job 2:7) by Satan to turn Job against God (Job 1:11; Job 2:4-5). Not all sickness and difficulty come from our own wrongdoing but can be an attack from Satan to derail our faith. Remember God is always in control and allow what we can handle and provide a way out so we will be able to bear the temptation (1 Cor 10:13) and like Job will have a henge of protection over you limiting Satan.
Testing of Our Faith
Even though our lives might be pleasing to God we all sin and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). We all stand in God’s mercy, as He might have a henge of protection around us sometimes God can lift it to see how we will respond in difficult times as He did with Job. The testing of our faith brings patience (James 1:3) and reveals the genuineness of our faith as it is tested by fire (1 Peter 1:7).
Keep Deuteronomy 32:39 in mind, it is a very powerful verse.
“Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My Hand”.
Remember in difficult time as sickness does come to all of us at some point Jesus said in this world, we will have tribulations, but we need to be filled with joy and His peace, as He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
How to get God's Healing?
How to get God's Healing?
The word lets us know that we also need to do something in order to be healed. We cannot just only pray for healing and think God will grant our request. We need act the word and not only read or hear it otherwise James 1:22 states we decieve ourselves.
As we pray we need to have faith in our words of prayer and believe that we recieve it and Jesus said we will have what we asked for in prayer (Mark 11:24).
James 5:16 is clear with this message: "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed".
Verses For Healing
I Personally Use:
Proverbs 4:22 “For they are life to those who find them, And heath to all their flesh”. (You need to read verses 20 and 21 to understand what the “they are” in this verse revers to: which is - God’s words).
Psalm 103:2-3 “Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases”
Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed”.
1 Peter 2:24 "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed"
James 5:15
