Something About Me

Hi, I am Rene’ Hummel a Christian by faith and an RN by profession. Let me give some info on my background and some faith experiences.

I immigrated on God’s grace from South Africa to the United States some time ago for a better future for me and my children. While working in the neonatal ICU at that time, it was hard to adjust to how things work in the US and it steered me to relay on God more for provision and protection to make it in new surroundings. After my time was done with the immigration company, I made a change to an adult clinic position. This again made me relay on God more for provision as work hours was short through Covid and thereafter, for guidance on handling various issues, protection again and health for me and my husband. I wanted to get out of my position working for someone else and start my own business in professional development and even tried something geared towards my neonatal experience roots.

It felt if I was tossed to and frow in the waves of life as the Bible states in James 1:6 and 8 when you are in doubt, double-minded and unstable in your ways. God says in His Word we ask amiss (James 4:3) as I asked to have my own business for my provision. I was asking for the wrong motives and was looking back to a time that passed in my life. Do not get me wrong, I liked working with neonates and moms. It gave me pleasure and a feeling of fulfilment but looking back and trying to provide for myself was the problem.

Jesus states “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). You see I already dedicated my Facebook page, created for professional development; Artof-Living, to postings geared to a Christian life. Also, God says he will provide for us; “God shall supply all your need according to His riches and glory by Jesus Christ” (Phil 4:19).

Artof-Living is now dedicated to Christian living guided by the LORD and through His word. Hopefully and if it is His will, I can be an inspiration to others to follow Jesus and to strive to live more like Christ.

NOTE: When I reverence the Bible, I usually refer to the NKJV unless otherwise stated.
